IED︎︎︎

With. In; Belonging is here is a masters show put on by the students of IED Venice’s masters program in Curatorial Practice. Over the course of this year we have learned invaluable lessons through our curriculum and interaction with IED. Lessons such as the necessity for things such as trust, communication, consideration and the importance of valuing one's work. We have done our best to absorb the range of knowledge bestowed on us by our professors and IED as a whole. As this year is the last year of the Curatorial Masters program located here in Venice we wanted to pay special tribute to this place and hope that the viewer feels how special Venice is to the entirety of the curatorial team.

SPARC*— Spazio Arte Contemporanea︎︎︎

BY VENICE ART FACTORY
Located in the vicinity of the Accademia bridge, in the historic city centre of Venice, SPARC* is a gallery, project space, and current home to VeniceArtFactory. Founded in 2017, the gallery forms part of a 19th-century building and is composed of four exhibition spaces on the first floor. The stairway offers additional space for the exhibition of artworks. This space is particularly fitting for With.in because of its characteristics; an apartment, a home, but even more so, its generous windows look out on Campo Santo Stefano which occupies a special place in the heart of the curatorial team, who has called the Campo home for the bigger part of 2020. VeniceArtFactory founded by curators Francesca Giubilei and Luca Berta is an organization that not only curates shows all around the city of Venice but focuses on production, organization and facilitation of national and internationally renowned exhibitions.

War Childhood Museum︎︎︎

This collaboration is one that is very special to the team, no amount of words can express how much of an honor it is to work with such an influential organization. Founded in 2017 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina based on the book War Childhood this independently organized Museum pursues the mending and addressing of “trauma at an individual level for both participants, whose personal stories and objects comprise the museum’s collection, and visitors – ultimately contributing to greater understanding for society as a whole” through its social entrepreneurship and it’s youth led organization. It has “become an international platform that gives voice to current and former war children.

James Blue Design︎︎︎

US based designer James Blue has given a vision and an organization to With.in. James aims to use design as a storytelling device, with a focus on brand identities, printed publications, and digital experiences. Intimately producing and constructing an identity for the show, building our website, catalogue and other printed material, we are beyond thankful for the contributions and art produced by James on behalf of the concepts and themes of this show.
